Regarding Warhol: Sixty Artists, Fifty Years

Alex Katz
All of the art posted on this blog are reasons why you should go see Regarding Warhol: Sixty Artists, Fifty Years showing at the Met until December 31.  There is so much to talk about after going to this exhibit.  Here are just a few thoughts...
  • The Julian Schnabel painting of Barbara Walters is the worst Schnabel piece ever
  • I actually like Jeff Koons after seeing this show... did I just write that?
  • Warhol's diamond dusted portrait of Beuys seems to be a precursor to Koons
  • I still don't understand why Luc Tuymans is so popular in the art world
  • I really learned some basic differences that give Koons, Hirst, Warhol, and Cattelan their own unique brand of Pop
  • I can't imagine anyone having the interest to watch Ryan Trecartin video for longer than a minute
  • Douglas Gordan's title to his photograph (Self-portrait as Kurt Cobain, as Andy Warhol, as Myra Hindley, as Marilyn Monroe) makes me nauseous
  • Robert Gober is an artist of great scope
  • And Andy Warhol is amazing!
